I wonder if it’s normal to get so easily affected by people’s tweets. I mean, every time I run the Twitter app on my phone, every other tweet on my tlist will be angst-filled or just plain annoyed, be it at the government, at their parents, at their schools, at their friends or even at themselves. After five minutes of scrolling, I start to feel vexed too, as if I were the one facing all these problems…it’s strange, really. And when I see tweets from my friends about how sad or angry they are, there’s something which I just can’t pinpoint that keeps me from writing them a message to comfort them sometimes. It frustrates me.

I just realized that this post is bordering on incoherency. Argh. D< but I really had to get that off my chest!

Found this on tumblr. It brought me to tears. Literally.

This is Shin Soohyun. He’s a country boy from the province of Gyeonggi-do. He is currently 22 years old, born March 11th 1989. He’s a blood type A, a Pisces, born in the year of the Snake. He has a mother, a step-father and two sisters—one older and one younger.

His birth father died when he was in the second grade, when he was only about 7 or 8 years old. He was so confused back then, always thinking that his father would get better and become healthy again. He was with friends when his older sister told him his father passed away—he never even got to say goodbye—and he fainted when he was told the news.

Having only one parent, one income, with three kids; they had little money and experienced periods of starvation. Some people might have never recovered from that, might have given up all their dreams for a more practical future. But Soohyun used this experience to grow, to realize that he could never stop until he achieved his dream.

He was first a trainee with Good Entertainment, and then eventually JYP around 2005. At JYP he met some people who would become lifelong friends—Jay Park, Jo Kwon and Junsu to name a few. Yet for some reason, he left the company or was taken out, and his friends went on to debut in different groups without him.

When he auditioned for U-Kiss/NHM, he claims they debated on him and he had to go back 4 or 5 times because they wanted “a pretty boy group” and in his opinion he has no good looks, only skill. They eventually decided to put him in the group and after they debuted, he was the first to start sobbing backstage.

This is Shin Soohyun, who always pushes himself to be the best he can be. He practices and works out for hours, trying to compensate for what he thinks he is lacking in looks. He never stops trying, even when he’s sick or hurt and wants to give up.

This is Shin Soohyun, who had to watch all of his closest friends debut and become hugely successful. He watched them win awards, appear on shows, make big names for themselves; while all he wanted was for U-Kiss to be recognized as a group with talent—something that never seemed to happen.

This is Shin Soohyun, who never takes the title of “leader” lightly. He was so strong during the member changes, he never let himself show weakness. Ever since he was given that title, and even in the transition period before, he has taken responsibility for all of U-Kiss’ downfalls, their scandals, their failures.

This is Shin Soohyun, who apologized on behalf of Ryan Jhun to KARA and their fans, when he did nothing wrong. He said that as leader, it was his fault. He seems to be in a constant gay scandal just because of his relationships with his friends. It made news when he said he watched porn. Fans were actually upset when he got his teeth fixed (despite it being pretty clear that he only did it now because he could actually afford to). He is only recognized for stupid reasons, rarely for the unending talent that he has.

This is Shin Soohyun, who gets so overwhelmed thinking about U-Kiss and the fans, that he has cried in the middle of performances. He is never one to hide his emotions; he laughs loudly when he’s amused, he cries when he’s sad, and he grins—oh, how he grins—when the fans respond to him or when his fellow members are happy.

This is Shin Soohyun, who has infinite talents and skills. He is an amazing singer and a great dancer, but he is also a pretty good rapper, he can beatbox, he can play piano, he took taekwondo for 13 years, he won the idol marathon, he plays in the FC Men soccer team. He also has a fantastic personality, he is endlessly romantic, he can be confident on stage and shy in front of girl groups, he is funny, personable, great on variety shows.

This is Shin Soohyun, who once stated his motto as “There is no success without suffering”. He sang “I Believe I Can Fly” at his auditions. He gives 110% in everything he does, regardless of his health. When a fan fainted at one of their fan signings, he helped her out of the crowd, down the stairs and then stayed with her to make sure she was okay. He does not put himself above anyone; his friends, his family and his fans come first.

This is Shin Soohyun, who scrunches up his nose when he sings. He puts his hands on his waist when he has nothing to do with them, he puts his middle finger down when he is singing bigger notes, he has dimples under his mouth that only show up when he makes certain faces.

And this is Shin Soohyun, who is never given the attention or respect he deserves. Fans care about him when he’s being affectionate with other members, when he’s flashing his abs, when he’s doing his typical power notes. But when he’s showing his true vocal talent with softer notes, no one is listening. He was going to be in a musical, but he had to pull out. He had a duet song with Eunyoung, but it was overshadowed by Kevin & Hoon’s song.

People talk about Kiseop as being good looking, Kevin as being a great singer, Dongho as being cute and multi-talented, AJ as a good rapper, Eli as good in taekwondo, Hoon as very kind. But when we get to Soohyun, all I ever see is “keke pedo soo!!! ^^”, “power vocal leader~” or “he has sxc abs XD”. He has so many things to bring the table, and not only is he disregarded in the kpop community as a whole, but by the actual fans of U-Kiss.

But despite everything he has going against him—from the circumstances he was born into, his own insecurities, the indifference from the fans—this never stops him. His troubles never weaken his grin, never dim the brightness in his eyes, never dull the way he shines.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is Shin Soohyun and he is perfect.

I’ve been wanting to blog about SHINee World: The First Concert in Singapore since September 10th but lots of work+EYAs popped up BUT as of today I AM A FREE PERSON so here goes :D

It was one of the most awesome experiences I’ve ever had :’D though ticket sales were crazy, queues were crazy and the fans were just crazy in general…but it’s Singapore, after all! Went with Jingyi, Jennifer and Jolene :) 3 Blingers to 1 Locket, dang. Chloe was there too HI CHLOE I KNOW YOU’RE READING THIS oh and Lizzi too! And my sister who was in the moshpit…

The security was slightly…weird? They didn’t do proper bag checks and only started confiscating people’s cameras and blah after the concert started :P I couldn’t really take many pictures, so I got a few soundbites :>

When the introduction video started playing and the lights dimmed, the stadium seriously went CRAZY. (The fans screamed at everything, it was quite amusing, really) But I think at 6,000 people got major heart attacks when SHINee World started blasting and they popped up from…inside the stage? LOL I’m not too sure but it was cool :D :D

thank you to kirara080525 for the video ^^

^ That was SHINee World Japan, but the Singapore one was about the same. I watched the Japan video over a thousand times but actually seeing it was awesome beyond words!

Order of performances (as my sister and I remember it)

SHINee World
Senorita
Get Down
Amigo
Juliette (If I’m not wrong, this is the performance in which Jjong had fireworks spraying out of his knuckles as he rose up into the air it was extremely mindblowing)
Stand By Me
Hello
(Somewhere inbetween these, there was a video, taken from the point of view of a bus, telling the story of five boys it sees i.e the members of SHINee)
Love Still Goes On
Taemin’s solo
Jjong’s solo
Minho’s solo (OMG by Usher–wow that was a really cool performance)
Key’s solo-My First Kiss (Krystal didn’t come, so they used crossdressing-Taemin instead xD Key was awesome as usual, yes)
A-Yo (so fun!)
And then they went backstage to change/rest for a few minutes while a video played. It showed each of the members speaking about the hardships they faced, how thankful they are to be here today, what they hope the future will be like, telling us to treasure our days etc :>
Romantic
Graze
Replay
Love Like Oxygen
Quasimodo (GAHH THE VIDEO WAS SO DEPRESSING and yes, watching it a thousand times on youtube didn’t even make me half as sad as the real performance did)
Life
Onew’s solo–he did an opera, and dang, he pulled it off well 8D his voice is meant for these kinds of things! The opera really made me tear up :’)
A Child in the Island House (one of my favourite performances, their voices were angelic+ I found the part where Onew rose up from the stage to hug the kid really touching!) Since I loved it so much, I shall include a video
credits to user MyPrettyboysSHINee :)
Ring Ding Dong
Up & Down
Ready or Not
Lucifer (remix! They were all raised into the air while they had X-Men claw things which shot green lasers in different directions when they pointed at the audience)
A short Thank You clip, which was depressing in a way because it meant that the concert was about to end
Jojo (so awesome hearing them perform it live too!)
One
THANK YOUS (After bowing, they started throwing plastic balls into the crowd and splashing water on each other hehehe. Key kissed each one before throwing it to the fans, so nice of him)+Key’s birthday surprise! Jonghyun spotted the Happy Keys Day banners and held one up, then we all sang Key an early birthday song (Jjong said “Happy birthday, Key! I love you!” in english while spraying him with pink silly string stuff JONGKEY WHOO, then they said “Dance time! Go! Go! Go Key go!” while Key did a crazy dance \O/ man, I never thought I’d get to see Key do one of his famous dances :P ) They all wore the hats and glasses that the fans threw onto the stage for them, which resulted in Taemin becoming a true Mushroom Maknae because of his shroom hat+ Jjong turning into a cross between a Power Ranger and Miffy. Key really LOLed at that :D
And then the concert came to an end D:
But it was a truly awesome and touching experience :) So thankful to have gotten a chance to go <3

I was spamming Chloe with U-KISS stuff yesterday night, so I thought of posting some here :D

Kevin, oh Kevin. Why art thou so feminine :P but he’s hilarious!

Explanation of the 2nd video: Kevin was in the middle of chickening out over the grasshoppers and when he saw a sticker on his hand he thought it was a bug and freaked out, you just gotta love how Kiseop freaks out here :D

these are just…too funny. xD

100th post, woohoo :)

Anyway, this post is going to be dedicated to U-KISS :)

NEVERLAND. WAS. JUST. RELEASED (about >15 hours ago, to be exact)

Somehow, the MV really affected me o_o it’s a kind of unexplainable feeling, more like deja vu, yet it isn’t. I really feel like I’ve seen that somewhere before in a dream, the misty landscape, that dim room…just watching the MV makes me feel…troubled, somehow? It probably doesn’t have anything to do with whatever I just mentioned, perhaps it’s just me losing my mind.

On a lighter note, KEVIN WAS AWESOME <3333

Despite all the aforementioned stuff, Neverland’s going to be replaying a hundred times today :3 most wouldn’t agree with me, but I think the video’s sort of beautiful.

Okay, when I said “Part 2 is on the way”, I think I was lying =_= i feel lazy to type so much. bleh.

Was feeling random/bored, so I made a You’re Beautiful graphic thingy (or whatever you call it). Gotta love their expressions in this one :D

To put things in context, in this scene, Heyi forces the boys to cook for her, so Shinwoo secretly oversalts her pasta, Jeremy adds sugar to it and Taekyung puts in a little vinegar. Heyi happily accepts their offering as if they did it willingly, and as she prepares to dig in, Jeremy readies the camera to capture her reaction, while the guys wait in anticipation… but just before she takes a bite, Mi-nyeo arrives. This may just be the only circumstance in which they’re actually bummed that Mi-nyeo interrupted a moment with Heyi, lol. (quoting Dramabeans)

"why didn't she just eat the damn spaghetti?!"

made my day, trololol.

Yes, this is going to be a really looooong post. O___O because I have so much to say yet I haven’t had the time to update this poor forgotten blog!

Starting with PSC! Yes, it was truly awesome (: I know it was in June and all but still…I miss it quite a lot D: Working with the VS people was really fun, I have to agree with Limin that their easy-going working style sort of “complements” our slightly more rigid working style. SAIKANG WARRIORS FOREVER MAN Logs is awesome. 8) Doing every single bit of saikang there was to do -> fun, somehow :D We were probably the most bonded comm due to the early-morning, full-day, late-night chionging of random stuff.

The day before the convention, I was on the bus with Limin, Jiamin, Kar Leng, Germaine, Ezra, Tin Yat, Darryl and Jerryl (basically, the whole of Logs, if I’m not wrong) and we were on the way to get lanyards from Popular when a random woman probably mistook us for a bunch of rebels because she started to tell us that we shouldn’t be out so late, we should be with our families instead, our parents spent a lot of money sending us to school etc. :O We were all pretty shocked at first (philo; HASTY GENERALISATIONS) but we figured that the woman probably had her own regrets about not spending enough time with her kids and stuff, and her advice was quite meaningful, really. So even though she’d totally misunderstood us, we thanked her for her advice before getting off the bus. She was nice, I guess(:

The convention itself was a really meaningful experience(: frankly, I don’t remember a lot of the talks and stuff because I think I was running around doing random things but the participants seemed to be enjoying themselves quite a lot, especially during orientation and ROPE x) I followed Mandela around for their ROPE activity. Free high-fives and smiles! They really spread the love<3

After the closing ceremony, the VS guys dunked started dunking the comm heads into the rather disgusting koi pond (excluding the RGS ones, of course.) If I remember it correctly, Darren, Ezra, David and Ryan got dunked, and Hwy accidentally fell into the pond while dunking somebody haha. The RGS side looked rather traumatised but thankful that they were dry…

There were quite a few OT scandals popping up throughout the course of PSC, such as Amanda+Ryan, Minchih+Douglas, Eda+Darren, Jiamin+Jerryl etc. I was involved in one too, unfortunately, but I shall not mention that here. D< If any member of the OT is reading this now, YOU GUYS ARE TERRIBLE. GROAR. DDDD<

To sum it all up, I feel really grateful to have been part of such an awesome OT, and to have been able to organise something so meaningful! I’ll probably never get a chance like this again. :(

Part Two is on the way!

Been feeling a little strange these days. It’s like I’m being stifled or something, yet there isn’t any pressure on me…it’s a weird feeling, I know, but it’s terribly worrying D: I seem happy all the time yet I’m never completely happy. It’s strange, yes it is. What’s wrong with me?
